ระหว่างวันที่ 9–13 กุมภาพันธ์ที่ผ่านมา หลักสูตรศาสนศึกษา แห่ง University of Otago ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ ภายใต้ความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ (MoU) และการสนับสนุนจาก สถาบันวิจัยนานาชาติธรรมชัย นิวซีแลนด์และออสเตรเลีย ได้จัดสัมมนาวิชาการนานาชาติด้านการอ่านคัมภีร์พระพุทธศาสนา ภายใต้หัวข้อ “พันธกิจและเส้นทางการดำเนินชีวิตของพระโพธิสัตว์ในผลงานของศานติเทวะ”การสัมมนาตลอดระยะเวลา 5 วัน ได้รับความสนใจอย่างกว้างขวาง มีผู้เข้าร่วมกว่า 200 ท่าน ประกอบด้วยคณาจารย์ นักศึกษา นักวิชาการ และบุคคลทั่วไป จากประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ สหรัฐอเมริกา ไทย จีน และญี่ปุ่น สะท้อนถึงความเข้มแข็งของความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ และความสนใจที่เพิ่มขึ้นในวงการพระพุทธศาสนศึกษาภายในงาน ผู้เข้าร่วมได้ร่วมกันศึกษาวิเคราะห์เส้นทางการบำเพ็ญบารมีของพระโพธิสัตว์ตามแนวคิดของศานติเทวะ โดยเชื่อมโยงกับหลักบารมี 6 ประการ ปรัชญาศูนยตา และแนวคิดเรื่องธรรมกายในยุคต้นของมหายาน ก่อให้เกิดการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้เชิงลึก การตั้งคำถามเชิงวิพากษ์ และการสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทางวิชาการที่เข้มแข็งยิ่งขึ้นในนามประธานอำนวยการ สถาบันวิจัยนานาชาติธรรมชัย ขอแสดงความขอบคุณผู้บริหารและคณาจารย์ม.โอทาโก ที่ได้ทุ่มเทจัดงานครั้งนี้ และอนุโมทนาบุญเจ้าภาพ ผู้สนับสนุน และผู้เข้าร่วมทุกท่าน ที่ได้ร่วมกันขับเคลื่อนกิจกรรมทางวิชาการครั้งนี้ให้สำเร็จลุล่วงด้วยดี พร้อมทั้งมุ่งหวังที่จะสานต่อความร่วมมือทางวิชาการอันเป็นประโยชน์ต่อวงการพระพุทธศาสนศึกษาในระดับนานาชาติต่อไปขอเจริญพรพระมหา สุธรรม สุรตโน (ปธ. ๙, ดร.)From 9–13 February, the Religious Studies Programme at University of Otago, New Zealand, under an academic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and with the support of the Dhammachai International Research Institue(DIRI), hosted an international academic seminar on Buddhist scriptural interpretation under the theme: “The Mission and Path of the Bodhisattva in the Works of Shantideva.”Over the course of five days, the seminar attracted widespread interest, with more than 200 participants, including faculty members, students, scholars, and members of the public from New Zealand, the United States, Thailand, China, and Japan. This strong participation reflects the vitality of international academic collaboration and the growing interest in Buddhist studies worldwide.During the seminar, participants engaged in in-depth study and analysis of the Bodhisattva’s path of cultivating perfections according to the thought of Shantideva. Discussions connected the six pāramitās (perfections), the philosophy of emptiness (śūnyatā), and early Mahāyāna concepts of the Dharmakāya. The seminar fostered profound scholarly exchange, critical inquiry, and the strengthening of international academic networks.On behalf of the Chair of the Dhammachai International Research Institute, I would like to express sincere appreciation to the administrators and faculty of the University of Otago for their dedication in organizing this event.
